Planning Cheap Golf Vacations

Saturday, April 10th, 2010

What's not to like about taking a golf vacation? You get to wake up every morning right next to a golf course and you get to go hit a round of 9 before breakfast or 18 after, if you so choose. The course is beautiful, your score is low, the food and drink are superb, and the company you keep is of your choosing. The only thing that could make it better is not paying too much.

Cheap golf vacation makes for an excellent time, but there are a few things to consider before you grab your sticks and toothbrush and go.

Golf Stance Tips

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

Many newer golfers (and a few older ones, too) have a tendency to misalign themselves when they take their stance. Normally, what they will do is aim way right of the target and they do this for a reason. Players who are misaligned from the get go and aim right are usually players who try to swing with their arms. When they do this the ball will almost always take off to the left. So what they are doing with this "right side" target trick is trying to fix a problem before it even happens!

In theory, this shouldn't be a problem...but this is not theory, it's golf. When an "arm swinger" forces his ball back on the fairway by overcompensating his alignment, he thinks he's doing himself a favor. But on those occasions when he actually makes a good, solid full body swing, his ball zips off into the trees on the right or into a right side bunker and he gets mad, and what's worse is that by using this misaligning method he's never going to reach his full potential as a golfer.

Why Use a Golf Practice Net?

Monday, August 10th, 2009

A golf practice net, also known as a golf hitting net, might be just the thing you need to take your golf game to the next level. If you're dedicated to improving your score and beating your buddies, consider buying a practice net.

Why?

It's a chance to practice your swing for free. You do have the one-time cost of the net, but after that it doesn't cost you a dime. This is the most affordable way to practice versus expensive round after round of golf. That way, when you do get out on the course, you'll have worked out your current golfing issues and lowered your score. If your partners don't know about your golf practice net, they'll certainly wonder how you've improved so much.

It's a time saver - practice at home without having to drive to the course. You'll practice more if it's less of a hassle and doesn't take up a lot of time. Sometimes you only have a few minutes between mowing the lawn and taking the kids to soccer practice, and with a net at home you can make the most of it.

Time To Plan Your Golf Vacation Package

Monday, August 10th, 2009

What's not to like about taking a golf vacation? You get to wake up every morning right next to a golf course and you get to go hit a round of 9 before breakfast or 18 after, if you so choose. The course is beautiful, your score is low, the food and drink are superb, and the company you keep is of your choosing.

A golf vacation package makes for an excellent time, but there are a few things to consider before you grab your sticks and toothbrush and go.

Advanced booking is a great idea. Plan early and be flexible about the dates and location and you're more likely to find discounts on travel, hotel, and the golf package. Do you really need to pick the swankiest course during peak golf season or will something a little less popular work for you? Examine what you really want out of your trip so you know what to look for. Specials abound, especially right now.
