There is no doubt that the approach shot to the green is one of the most important shots in your golf game. Hit it high and tight to the pin and you're set up for an excellent birdie opportunity. Hit thin or fat and you're set up for a bogey opportunity or even worse. This is why you need to spend time on the practice range hitting approach shots.
I see many higher handicap golfers struggle with their approach shots into the green. It's understandable as this shot can be a little tricky, but you it certainly doesn't have to get the best of you. Here is a golf teaching aid designed to help you improve your approach shots and begin hitting more greens in regulation. Let's get started.

Ever wonder how the players on T.V. hit those perfect shots around the green that end up stopping right beside the hole?
It's a really simple answer. They have the wedges that are fitted to their individual games. How do they find those wedges? Well let's take a look. As you know golf wedges have come a really long way in the last couple years and the smarter players are realizing the benefits of these advancements.
If you are still one of those players who is still only carrying one wedge in your golf bag you are basically throwing away strokes to your golfing buddies or other competitors. You have to add the benefits of a better wedge game to your arsenal to succeed and lower your scores. The best thing is that it's simple to do.

I think we all know of at least one player who carries in his bag a whole arsenal of clubs. And by that I mean 18 to 25 different clubs! The rules of golf state we are allowed to carry a max of 14 clubs. Using that rule as a guideline, which clubs should you carry in your bag?
The best answer to that question is it depends on your skill level.
A very good player (someone with a low handicap) will need to carry a few clubs that the high handicapper would be better off leaving at home.
The high handicapper (aka weekend player) might carry these in his bag:

Basically, a set of clubs consists of 'woods' and irons and a putter.
WOODS
Woods ( a generic term for the shape of the club as these are often made of other materials) are the more bulbous headed clubs with greater clubhead density, designed for propelling the ball longer distances. Originally, these numbered from 1 (Driver) to 4-wood, but these days it seems that woods can have any degree of loft and can number down to the higher iron numbers.
IRONS
A normal set of irons consists of numbers 3 to 9, together with a pitching wedge and sand wedge for use around the greens and from bunkers. The lower the number on the club, normally the longer the shaft to give a bigger swing arc, and the less the degree of loft on the face. These are designed to hit the ball lower over longer distances. The higher the number, the shorter the shaft and greater degree of loft. These are intended to hit the ball higher and over shorter distances.

If you are in search of the best golf clubs for you, you are at the right place. Golf clubs are products that are supposed to dramatically improve your game, virtually overnight. Smart entrepreneurs have cashed in on the fact that almost every golfer is constantly looking for a way to improve their game and reduce their handicap. The outcome is that many golfing products have flooded the market and the results have been predictable.
Before buying your golf clubs you should confirm whether it will help in eliminating your particular golfing weakness or whether it will help to strengthen the group of muscles to eliminate your existing golfing equipment. If your golfing product does not do this, then the chances are very high that it will be a dud. You should particularly ask for expert advice personally or on the internet.

Golf is one of the most popular sports in the country. It is a sport which provides adrenalin, excitement, competitiveness and requires skill and tactics like most sports, but is also a very relaxing and social sport which any person of any degree of fitness or lack thereof can play, which is why it is so popular.
Golf is also a notoriously challenging game and it will take beginners a while to develop a reasonable aptitude for it. You have to be able to gauge not only distances and the capabilities of the clubs you have (which we'll talk more about in a moment), but also your own capabilities.

Wilson Golf TW9 Stain WedgeWilson Staff TW9 Milled Wedge Tour-milled grooves for shot-stopping spin from precise distances are cut into each new Wilson Staff Tw9 wedge. New, lower-lofted cavity back options bridge the gap between the modern pitching wedge and the sand wedge, for improved gapping. The 60, 58, 56, 54, 52 loft options feature tour- preferred shapes with smaller heads. The 48 and 50 loft options feature a slightly larger, cavity-back with the same playability of a player's blade. 3-time major winner Padraig Harrington put the new Tw9 wedges (54 and 60) in his bag after seeing them for just one week, and won the 2008 British Open and immediately followed with the PGA Championship victory only weeks later. Features • TOUR APPROVED: SHARP, DEEP, WIDE GROOVES Tw9 grooves are cut as sharp, deep, and wide as USGA standards allow. A 32.5 angle and square edges (standard grooves are 42.5 angle and rounded edges) provide maximum spin and control around the greens. • ALL FEEL, SOFTER IMPACT The elastomeric coating in the milled recessed areas ensures a softer impact across the entire face of the wedge. • YOUR GAME, YOUR CHOICE Anti-Glare Gunmetal finish or Classic Satin finish Specs CLUB LOFT LIE BOUNCE LENGTH SWING WEIGHT 48 48 65.0 deg 6.00 35.5 in. Putting ConnectionPutting Connection The industry standard for arm connection during the putting stroke, the Putting Connection defines and maintains the triangle between the shoulders, arms and putter grip. It is well known the most consistent stroke utilizes the large muscles of the shoulders and back and torso. These large muscles produce a smooth broad motion akin to drawing a wide arc on a chalkboard. It is the small wrist and hand and finger muscles that produce the quick, sometimes jerking motion (writing words on a chalkboard) that get the player in trouble. To produce a repeatable pendulum motion, the player must strive to reduce the number of levers used. Ideally, the arms would hang directly below the shoulders and the shoulders and the arms, hands and shoulders would work together as a single unit. The Putting Connection helps reduce tension & establishes the connection necessary for the player to learn this stroke. The Putting Connection works equally well for the short game and will immediately improve the player's ability to strike the ball consistently. Adjustable in width to fit any player's size or style.
