How to Build a Professional Golf Swing

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

There is no doubt that the golf swing is a relatively complex mechanical action that requires a specific sequence of movements in order to create a dynamic impact position.

One of the top swing flaws is 'paralysis by analysis' which destroys the natural flow of the swing.

Many golfers make the critical mistake of trying to manipulate the golf club into certain positions on their down swing. They think because they see these positions in magazine that they need to manually replicate them.

The golf swing is meant to be a natural movement. It should be a nice fluid, free flowing movement from start to finish.

Perfect Golf Swing

Friday, February 19th, 2010

Anyone who spends time on the golf course is looking for the best possible golf swing. Some argue that there is no such thing but after witnessing some of the pros at work I would have to differ. The skill required for this game is quite imposing if you really think about it. Nevertheless, the perfect golf swing is attainable.

First of all we have to recognize that golf is a game that is as intellectual as it is physical. My husband describes it as a game of chess that involves gross motor skills. He has spent a lot of hours trying to develop the best possible swing that he can master however I think that his approach is all wrong.

If You Want To Improve Your Golf Game It All Begins With Your Swing

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

While every putter must know how to putt, he has to get the ball off the tee with a strong swing before he does anything else. With practice and concentration, any golfer can learn to perfect his swing. All swings have a few common elements that make up the fundamentals of golf.

The Grip

When gripping a club, circle your left hand around the club so you have a V between the thumb and index finger. Stretch the tension from finger to the shoulder. Overlap your right hand over the left thumb and vice versa. Make your V shape create a line that leads to the chin. Apply light pressure to both hands.

Sunday, December 27th, 2009

For most people, taking golf lessons means going to a professional who can share their skill and experience; but did you know that you can also take golf lessons online? It is still a good idea to take some lessons from a pro if you are just getting started and you can learn much from an expert player, but you probably will not remember everything you learn in a few lessons. It is great to practice with a pro, but supplementing these with golf lessons online makes a wonderful addition which can help you remember what you have learned.

Having these web based resources can be a great help for those trying to learn or perfect their game. Those little things you forget can end up sabotaging an otherwise perfect swing. When you take Online Golf Lessons in addition to your sessions with a pro, you're able to review things and remember everything you need to know.

Golf Swing Aids Make A Huge Difference

Monday, October 5th, 2009

The swing is one of the critical aspects of golf training, and the perfect swing can mean the difference of many strokes. It is a basic technique of the game, and needs to be practiced with patience and care. For people who would rather train in privacy and at their leisure, many companies offer swing aids.

The swing aid is generally a circular guide mounted vertically on its stand, which offers support and guides the club in a neat arc, as perfect as you can get it. Repetitive use of this device trains your muscles to move in the correct arc, the end of the club outlining the circumference of a perfect circle. Using a training aid is a good idea when you don't want to waste time at the course, practicing the basics. The device is portable to a limit, and can easily be installed in a backyard or even a garage for uninterrupted training time. Most of the units come with a training video, which demonstrates the correct usage, and the difference it makes etc.

The perfect swing involves maintaining the correct posture, rolling the wrists in the follow through and the correct grip. The swing aid cannot teach you how to grip a club, but it does make it awkward for you to make a complete swing if you hold the wrong grip. It is important to note here, that swinging away with the wrong grip, on a swinging aid can lead to awkwardness, maybe even a sprain. It is advisable to initiate lessons with a pro, and then practice on a swing aid machine, fully knowing the posture and the grip you are supposed to maintain.
