Countless veteran golfers say that the game they are passionate about is more of a mind game.  As such, little tweaks in the manner a player views golf will go a long, long way contribute in radically improving his game.  Let's discuss more mental strategies that can magnificently elevate the the manner by which a golfer plays the sport.

Don't let the golf course to control you; own the golf course!  Many novices in the game of golf are terrified by the sheer size of the golf course.  Think of the 59 holes of of several popular golfing destinations and you'll discover the reason for of the aforementioned predicament.  Here's an essential golf lesson: this sport is never a uni-dimensional game.  Even if the golf course looks intimidating doesn't mean you will pee on your pants and wish for the darkness of evening.  There is more than one way to skin a cat, they say, and there there are several ways to aid you to hit the ball to the hole, despite the distance between the hole and the ball.  Abandon the mindset of hitting the ball from one point to point B, just to illustrate, you can try to hit the said ball towards your sweet spot, that area where your shots never seem to fail, where your game is always at its best.  Such may not be the shortest approach to the hole, but it most certainly is the surest.  Subject your will on the golf course and get the most out your game.

Golf Tips – Accuracy First, Then Distance

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Most beginners have one thing in mind, and that is to hit the ball as far as possible.
Many golfers never quite get out of this mindset and this is one of the reasons why they will never get the distance that they are capable of hitting the ball.

The wise golfer will practice for accuracy first and concentrate on the distance once they have mastered the art of control.

It's not much point hitting the big yards off the tee if the ball is going to end up on another fairway or in the rough.

Golf: Shooting in the 70’s

Monday, May 24th, 2010

I remember when I first attempted to play a round of golf, how frustrating it was and how much I disliked it. The only reason for my ill feelings were because I was very bad at it. I could not understand that, because I was very good in all other sports, like football, basketball and baseball. Why was I so bad at golf? So I decided to actually practice this sport and before long, I was getting better. I learned quickly that becoming frustrated when I hit a bad shot was a very big nono. So I then read a book and put these suggestions to practice.

7 Golf tips on how to improve your next round of golf!

Golf Swing Tips – Can You Swing Too Hard?

Friday, May 21st, 2010

Golf swing tips all focus on better aligning your golfing technique in order to give you desirable results. However, most golf swing tips only allow give you techniques about how you should hold your golf club, the amount of grip to be used and your stance at the green. Yet what about actually swinging the golf club? Many people feel that the harder you swing the club, the further the ball will go. While this may be true to an extent, by hitting the ball as hard as you can, without thinking about technique or accuracy, your ball my travel far, however, it will most likely not follow the direction you were wanting it to go. But why is this? The more uncontrolled force you use, you the more uncontrolled your golf ball will become. The idea of the perfect swing is to have force behind your swing while still maintaining complete control over your club and the golf ball.

Golf – A Golf Swing Tip

Saturday, May 15th, 2010

Well golfers, summer is on its way, and most weekend "golf" warriors are hitting the links. There are ways to enjoy this wonderful game, which entail golf strategies for recreation or progress. I myself have always struggled with wanting to pound out a 400 yard drive, being that I'm a big guy, but let's face it- Tiger Woods and the boys on the tour even hook or slice at times.

It all starts with timing. Good timing brings accuracy from the tee, and this is where one must begin to improve their golf swing. Shorten your back swing by stopping your shoulder turn when your arms start going back naturally. If you don't you will get in trouble at the top if you keep going. Stay parallel, and eliminate over turning by keeping your hands away from your head, as far as possible. When you keep your feet planted, you will also find that this holds your lower half and stops you from swaying.

Golf Tips – The Great Driver Dichotomy: A Word To The Wise

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

One of the trickle-down results of the Great Professional Golfer Bandwagon is what we'll refer to as the Great Big Driver Dichotomy.

It Works Something Like This:

On a week-to-week basis, Tour players play on courses with very little rough. This means that for the most part they can swing away with the driver on almost every hole.

On the rare occasions that they play a genuinely tough course, they are forced to actually think about their tee shots, and as a result they end up hitting the driver far less often than they are accustomed to. This is usually followed by post-round whining about how “the course took the driver out of my hands.”

Inside Approach Golf Swing Trainer

The Inside Approach Golf Swing Trainer How it works is why it's so effective! The Inside Approach was developed to give golfers a clear visual understanding of where the club needs to be swung as it approaches the most critical point of the swing... the impact zone. To hit solid, accurate shots, the clubface must be square or squaring at impact and the club must be approaching the ball from an "inside" path. The Inside Approach's unparalleled design gives golfers immediate feedback (both positive and negative) on whether they have accomplished this task. The path in which the club is swung directly influences one's ability to square the clubface and thus be consistent. If the club is swung down too steep or from out-to-in, it makes it very difficult for your hands and arms to square the clubface - the result of which is usually an open clubface at impact causing the SLICE (85% of all golfers do this). If you happen to square the clubface when swinging from out-to-in, you may hit a "pull." (Often, you may find that you pull your short irons and slice you longer irons, and especially your driver). When the club is swung down on the correct path, it promotes the proper sequence of movements necessary for your arms and hands to naturally square the clubface. Some golfers have a tendency to hit pushes and hooks. These ball flights are also a result of poor path, however, the path now is being swung too far from the inside or underneath the correct swing plane. The Inside Approach golf swing trainer is universally designed to correct both of these undesirable swing paths by giving you safe and instant feedback on whether you have swung the club on the correct path. If your swing path is correct you will miss the cushion; if it is incorrect your club may hit the cushion. The cushion, if hit, is designed to safely break away thus not hurting you or your club(s). This immediate feedback (positive and/or negative) is by far, the most effective method of training a new motor skill.    Included  • Inside Approach  • Tote Bag  • Inside Approach to Better Golf Video (DVD).  • Advanced Drills Video (DVD)  • Secret Lessons for the Tour (DVD)    FAQ's Q: Can the Inside Approach golf swing trainer be used for both left-handed and right-handed golfers? Simplifying Your Sand Play Saves Strokes

Friday, March 26th, 2010

Copyright © 2010 Jack Moorehouse

There are two keys to mastering sand play. The first is setting realistic goals when practicing. Instead of trying to place it a foot or two from the pin, work on just escaping the bunker and hitting the green every time. After you've reached this goal, set a new goal of getting the ball within 10 feet of the pin. Then, set a goal of six feet. Keep setting new goals until you're able to place the ball within a foot or two of the pin every time.

The second key to mastering sand play is perfecting technique. If you're hitting bunker shots with the wrong technique, you're not going to improve. In fact, you'll probably get worse. So make sure you're technique is sound. If you're not sure, take some golf lessons or study golf tips from a magazine or a newsletter. Just makes sure your using the right technique. Good sand play can chip a stroke or two from your golf handicap.
