According to the National Golf Foundation, a bunch of people who get paid to figure out stuff like this, the average score shot by the 25 million or so American golfers is 102. A mere 10 percent of all players consistently break 100 in golf. Only 5 percent break 90, and fewer than 1 percent break 80.
After interviewing hundreds of professional golf schools that have trained hundreds of thousands of golfers over the years, the information comes to the following conclusions:
* In a typical round, golfers who consistently break 100 but fail to shoot lower than 90 hit only four fairways with their tee shots, take 40 putts, and usually don't make any birdies.

There is no doubt that the approach shot to the green is one of the most important shots in your golf game. Hit it high and tight to the pin and you're set up for an excellent birdie opportunity. Hit thin or fat and you're set up for a bogey opportunity or even worse. This is why you need to spend time on the practice range hitting approach shots.
I see many higher handicap golfers struggle with their approach shots into the green. It's understandable as this shot can be a little tricky, but you it certainly doesn't have to get the best of you. Here is a golf teaching aid designed to help you improve your approach shots and begin hitting more greens in regulation. Let's get started.

You've just hit a great drive into the middle of the fairway and you've got a birdie chance. Then you end up hitting a poor shot from the fairway and drop a stroke, or even worse. Has that happened to you?
Here are some things to consider that should lead to you playing a more consistent golf fairway shot:
Preparation:
When you've just hit a good tee shot you're usually delighted. In fact, you're usually so delighted that you can't wait to get onto the fairway and make the next shot. This can lead to a lack of concentration, remain focused. Assess the lie. Is it on a downslope, is it a tight lie, or a fluffy lie? An uphill lie for instance will naturally give your shot height, as you will catch the ball more on an upswing than you would normally. You have to assess all these things before selecting the right club and taking up the correct stance to play your golf fairway shot. Try and visualise your next shot. It's okay knowing how you're going to play it, but it's just as important to know where you're going to put it. Remember your alignment. Look down the fairway and find a target where you want your shot to finish. Now look back on the same line towards your ball and choose another target -maybe a patch of grass, two or three feet in front of your ball. Use this as your target for alignment, as it's easier to align correctly to a target only a few feet away than one that is hundreds of yards down the fairway.

When watching golf on television, one cannot help but wonder how men and women can make millions of dollars playing a game that looks so simple. Honestly, who can't hit a ball into a hole with 4 or 5 tries? Ahh, but golf is another one of those "finer arts", and it can take years and years of practice before you break par - let alone try for those birdie thingies! For people looking to get into the sport, golf lessons are probably the best way to go - unless you were raised on the greens like dear Tiger.
So, is there any real difference between instructors, or will anyone do?
Hey look, there are $7 an hour fry cooks at McDonald's and $100,000 per year chefs - both can teach you how to cook, but the results you'll experience will be far different. While a higher price does not always mean higher quality, it is a good rule of thumb to go by when looking for the "Zen Master" instructor for your golf lessons.

The following article lists some simple, informative tips that will help you have a better experience with Golf Drivers.
If you don't have accurate details regarding Golf Drivers, then you might make a bad choice on the subject. Don't let that happen: keep reading.
In golf, the driver is also known as the 1 wood. Normally it’s the longest club in the bag and has the largest head. This club is used to hit the ball off the tee out of the box, which is where the ball is teed up to start playing a hole. Of course, on a short par 3 hole, the driver would be left in the bag, and another club would be selected, unless the golfer just had a hankering to fly the green and blow any chance at making a birdie or par.
continued below........
Now, it should be noted that the club known as the driver is not something that can be used to literally drive someone around. If anyone put this club behind the wheel of their car and climbed into the back seat expecting to be chauffeured to a specific destination, or just driven around in general, they will have a very, very, very long wait. After all, it is a golf club, not someone who gets paid to drive cars. It does not have arms or legs, nor does it have eyes or ears. You will note there was no mention of a brain, but that is because there are so many people on the road who also do not appear to have a functioning brain while they are driving.

Don't knock it till you try it there are great many women who enjoy swinging a golf stick on the green but sadly the female species consider retirement age is the best time to take up this sport. How wrong they are.
This is a game that provides the young and old with a mixture of emotions, happiness/contentment/peace/tranquillity and at the same time a guaranteed feeling of satisfaction.
Men and women who love the game to an extent where they reach a certain level love the fact that they are now in a position to qualify and play in tournaments.
